Reactive Dog Training & Behaviour Support

Kind, Qualified Help for Dogs Who Struggle With the Outside World

Reactivity can be one of the most emotionally and practically challenging issues dog owners face. Whether your dog barks, lunges, growls or panics when seeing other dogs, people, vehicles or other triggers, you are not alone—and it is not your fault.

As a Nanci Creedon Dog Training Academy Qualified Reactivity Specialist, reactivity is not just something I work with—it is my primary area of focus. I understand the profound impact it can have on your dog’s welfare, your daily life, and your emotional wellbeing.

The Real Impact of Reactivity
Reactivity is more than a training issue. It can affect:

Your ability to walk your dog comfortably

Their emotional state—often driven by fear, frustration or over-arousal

Your confidence as an owner

Your relationship with your dog

You may feel anxious, embarrassed or restricted in what you can do. That’s why I offer judgement-free, science-based support, tailored to your dog and your life.

A Scientific & Individualised Approach
I use a humane, evidence-led method combining:

Desensitisation: Gradually exposing your dog to triggers at a distance they can handle

Counterconditioning: Changing their emotional response by pairing triggers with positive experiences

Breed-specific rewards: Using what your dog finds truly motivating to make the process effective

No force, no fear: Training is structured to be as stress-free as possible—for both ends of the lead

We don’t punish, suppress, or correct. Instead, we work with your dog’s emotions and help them make better choices by feeling better in the first place.

What We Focus On
Our reactivity training includes:

Teaching eye contact and handler focus through gentle luring and lure fading

Building neutral, safe responses to triggers through scientific protocols

Choosing appropriate walks and routines to reduce arousal and prevent trigger stacking

Ensuring you feel prepared and calm before leaving the house

Sessions are designed to:

Keep your dog below threshold

Avoid rehearsing reactive behaviour

Build lasting behavioural change based on your dog’s emotional needs and the ability for your dog to make their own positive choices.

You're Not Alone
Every reactive dog is different. Some are anxious. Some are frustrated. Some have had repeated negative experiences. But they all deserve the same thing: understanding, support, and a chance to feel safe again.

My role is to guide you with:

Clear, actionable steps

A pace that’s comfortable and sustainable

Ongoing support to help you feel empowered, not overwhelmed

If reactivity is affecting your daily life, please reach out. You don’t have to face it alone, and things can get better—with the right plan, the right support, and the right understanding.
Let’s work together to help your dog feel safe—and your walks feel easier.
