Service Description

Time to head out into the real world! This is all about meeting other dog owners, sharing progress together, seeing your puppies grow into dogs that can handle anything life throws at them. In this club we really get to grips with the life skills you and your pup need for everyday life, giving you the confidence to tackle life situations with your dog by your side using scientifically proven, positive reinforcement and force free methods. This course is designed for socialised dogs who are pretty comfortable being near people and other dogs- if you feel your pup needs more support please give me a call and I can advise whether the course is suitable :) This course ideally suits people who have completed 'Pup Start' but that is not essential. This is an ongoing training club, you can come along for as many sessions as you wish to attend. I have structured the course so that you can progress through Bronze, Silver and Gold levels of each core skill we work on- so that if you complete the gold level you can be confident in your dog's ability to perform that skill in a real life situation around real world distractions. Each week we will cover the following and much more: - Focus on you in busy places - Cross roads calmly by your side - Dog parkour - Polite greetings for humans and four legged friends - Settling in public places - Loose lead walking and lead handling skills - Recall around real world distractions - Having a cuppa with your dog! The venue will change each week, and I will make sure you are progressively challenging your dogs to increase their skills around distractions. Every week- we do our core life skills: loose lead, recall and settle. I then drip feed in the new and fun stuff around those core skills. And much, much more! The beauty of this course is unexpected things always happen, and you will learn how to tackle these situations with an IMDT Qualified Dog Trainer by your side! WE NEED YOU TO BRING: - A normal 4ft dog lead- no extendables or slip leads please - A c.5m long training line for recall practise - Plenty of treats! something different to their normal kibble or food in a pouch or easily accessible place with one hand - A tug toy- or the closest you've got! - A positive, dog minded attitude :) - Poo bags as we are in public! - A mat/towel for your dog to learn to settle on
